A synthetic jet is actually streaming of sound wave or membrane oscillating and no mass source is needed. The energy of sound or vibration is converted into the flow. Synthetic jets now find many applications, especially in the field of flow control.

We also know well the mechanism of asymmetry of vortices at the nose tip of slender body at high angle of attack. A innovative technique can fully control the asymmetric vortices and proportional control of side forces could be provided.
